Follow your Passions: Bridging the Gap with Karen Brooks

I was excited that my sweet friend and now mentor, Catherine Grace O’Connell, asked me to join the Bridging the Gap campaign a few months ago. Her vision to unite Millennial & Midlife generations to end divisions of all kinds is truly inspiring and I am privileged to be a part of a cause that promotes unity and “Reciprocal Mentorship”. Today’s launch of Bridging the Gap brings together 200 Influencers who have committed to take part in a campaign to promote awareness and bring about social change. All woman, despite disparate demographics, have so much to offer one another. #WeAreStrongerTogether.

I’m so honored to introduce to you my partner for the Bridging the Gap Campaign, author of Wear with Passion, Karen Brooks. (@wearwithpassion)

From our first conversation over the phone, Karen and I instantly connected and discovered that despite our age differences, how much in common we have. Karen and I share a love for fashion, interpersonal and deep connections and the desire to add value in the lives of others and make a difference in this world. We also both love the beach!

Adding a Pop of Color with Jewelry

I love that jewelry can really transform any outfit – like the Moon Dance Necklace that I wore with this simple LBD and paired with a blush (neutral) blazer. This delicate, but bold necklace from Bracha adds just the pop of color that I wanted for this spring work outfit.

Not only are Bracha’s designs beautiful and unique, I fully support the mission behind this jewelry line founded by 2 sisters who believed that they could change the world. Their hope is that when you purchase Bracha, conversations will be sparked, raising awareness and giving hope and healing to victims of human trafficking.

Hotel Review: A Staycation at The Redondo Beach Hotel

A few weekends ago, I had the wonderful opportunity to join my friend, Lauren of Bohemian by the Bay, for a fun weekend staycation at The Redondo Beach Hotel. It’s a modern hotel with a beachy vibe, right in the heart of the South Bay. Like Lauren, since moving here a year ago from West LA, I haven’t been able to explore too much, so this little staycation provided that perfect opportunity.

ThredUP Buying Experience Review – Tory Burch Pussy Bow Blouse

Tory Burch Checked Pussy Bow Blouse

I first heard about ThredUP while scrolling through my Instagram feed, so I was very excited when the company reached out to me to try them out. While I love bargain shopping, I don’t ever have the patience to sift through racks and racks of clothes. ThredUP, is an online consignment store, so it makes it really easy to shop and sell secondhand clothes right from home. I was able to do a search for specific items that I was looking for and filter by size, brand, color and price.

Mom Jeans – Madewell The Anywhere Jean

I’m all about comfort whenever possible and these “mom” jeans fit the bill perfectly.  I’m   now about 4 weeks postpartum and 15ish pounds away from my pre-baby weight and these jeans are perfect for that in between size.  With my first pregnancy, I never wanted to spend too much money on clothes that were in between my sizes, but it actually took me almost 2 years to finally get back to my pre-pregnancy weight (granted, I wasn’t exercising regularly ;)). This time around, I purchased a few more “investment” postpartum pieces, because I know that I’ll likely wear it for longer than I think, plus I can pass it on to another mama friend (or keep it for myself for baby #3)!
